Pontypridd FC and AFC Porth agree annual Kinsman-Hacker Cup

Club News

With less than 48 hours to go until Pontypridd Football Club make their bow in a special friendly challenge match against Welsh Football League outfit AFC Porth, we are delighted to announce the fixture will be the inaugural Kinsman-Hacker Cup match.

The Kinsman-Hacker trophy will commemorate the fraternity between our clubs and will become an annual fixture in the pre-season of both clubs. The name of the cup is a tribute to Mr J.W. Kinsman, who was named as the first secretary of the professional Pontypridd Football Club in 1911, and Mr Ray Hacker, the founder of AFC Porth as Beatus United in the 1950s.

Once again we extend our gratitude towards the management committee at AFC Porth, their support and friendship since we reformed Pontypridd FC has been incredible. Pontypridd FC’s ‘away’ colours will be claret and blue, the colours of AFC Porth, to symbolise this.

Pontypridd FC verus AFC Porth will take place on Wednesday 11th July 2018 at Tonyrefail Leisure Centre 3G, kick-off will be 7.30pm. There will be a limited edition commemorative programme on sale for £1 (entry to the game is free). Chairman Nigel Wheeler will also present a framed home shirt to Western Security Systems Ltd as a gesture of thanks for their generous sponsorship of the senior home kit this season.
