In the latest pre-season friendly the senior side travelled to Torfaen play the reserve side of Gwent County League outfit Blaenavon Blues. In a closely contested match Blaenavon came out 3-2 winners. The coaching staff were particularly impressed with the way the boys played in the first half, despite having nine members of the squad missing.
Geraint Lewis continued his excellent recent form with his third goal in as many games and Liam Griffiths grabbed his first goal in Pontypridd FC colours to give a 2-2 half-time scoreline. Unfortunately, Blaenavon grabbed a second half winner and Ponty were unable to claw back an equaliser.
With the league campaign starting in a fortnight it was another important 90 minutes under the belt for our developing side.
