Pontypridd FC are delighted to officially welcome Kieron Cook, Aron Barnes and Tom Slater to the club.
Kieron Cook is a player with experience playing at a much higher level. Kieron has been on the books of Bristol Rovers, Newport County and Merthyr Town, as well as playing in the Welsh League for several clubs, including Cambrian & Clydach Vale BGC, Cwmbran Celtic and Treharris Athletic Western. ‘Cooky’ joined the club on trial this summer having been out of the game for 20 months through injury. He has fitted in well with the squad and has already shown the quality he possesses on the pitch. Kieron made his competitive debut for the club in our league win at Nelson Cavaliers Reserves.
On signing for the club, Kieron said: “I would like to thank everyone at the club for their warm welcome. It feels great being part of a club that is just starting out on its football journey and I look forward to helping Pontypridd FC push on and achieve success. It’s been a difficult two seasons for me as I have been out with an achilles injury, so it’s great to be back out there and getting back in the swing of things.”
Aron Barnes also got involved over the summer, playing in several pre-season friendlies. He has impressed with his industry in wide areas and we are really pleased to have Barnesy signed with the club.
The third player to arrive is Tom Slater. Tom joins from TERV League Premier Division side Ynysybwl AFC and previously played for Pontypridd Town Youth. Tom will provide competition for midfield places in the squad.
Everyone at Pontypridd FC wishes all three the best of luck this season.
