Pontypridd FC Under 13s continued their league campaign on Saturday at home to BTM United (Bluebirds). In previous fixtures against this opposition, under a different banner, the side had suffered extremely heavy defeats, but in a sign of how far the youngsters have come over the past year they put in a very competitive performance.
The first half had very little in it. BTM enjoyed more spells of possession, but Ponty defended well and held their own; when the defence was breached Corey Foggarty was on hand in goal to save. Unfortunately, the under 13s efforts were undone by two quick goals shortly before half-time.
The second half had a similar pattern and while BTM added two further goals there was certainly no disgrace in the Ponty performance; the players kept going until the end and could hold their heads up high knowing they had represented the club and themselves well.
Before the match the under 13s received their official club tracksuits and kit bags, purchased by the club with the help of sponsorship from Prichard’s. The coaches are very proud of the youngsters and we know they will wear the Pontypridd FC colours with pride.
Below are photos of some of the under 13s receiving their kit from U13s coaches Graeme Jones, Bradley Harris, Ryan Wheeler & Nigel Wheeler.
