Callan Young has been awarded the under 13s player of the month for October. Congratulations to Callan (pictured receiving his award from club chairman Nigel Wheeler), a deserved reward for consistent performances so far this season. Speaking about Callan, the Pontypridd FC under 13s coaches said:
“Callan won coaches player of the year last season and has continued in the same way this season. Callan is a real team player who gives his all in both matches and training; he is a pleasure to coach.”
The under 13s played three matches in October, winning once and losing twice. A poor performance against Penydarren BGC resulted in a 7-2 defeat. Although they went down 9-2 in the next game at Llantwit Fardre, the coaches felt it was an improved performance because Fardre have a very strong side. The final game of the month, last weekend, saw the youngsters score their first ever away victory under our club banners, winning 2-1 at FC Caerffili. Joint top scorers this month were Mani Owen and Evan Sienczyk with 3 goals.
