The under 13s took on Llantwit Fardre on the weekend at the Maritime and despite a 7-0 defeat it was another encouraging display from the Ponty youngsters. The match was more competitive than the score-line would suggest, Ponty trailing 2-0 at the break against a team they are accustomed to losing to by double figure margins. A flurry of late goals gave Fardre a handsome looking result, but the way the boys played against such an outstanding team at this age group is further evidence of their progress this season.
The Ponty man of the match was: Evan Sienczyk, a superb performance playing in central midfield for the first time.
Other players called out for their performances were:
Matthew Williams: a fine display in the centre of defence, noted for some excellent tackling.
Kaden Harris: adapting well at right back and improves with every game.
Jack Jones: on the left, also making the position his own.
There is no fixture for the under 13s next week.
