Gareth Kear has been named first team player of the month for January 2019. It’s been a mixed month for the firsts: a disappointing defeat at Treforest 2nds at the start of the month has been followed up by consecutive home wins and Pontypridd currently sit top of the league. Kear has been a key player in this with his tenacity at left back and a return of his set-piece quality has been a feature of the games.
Speaking about Kear, first team manager Paul Dennis said: “It’s been difficult defensively all season so the defensive unit have been working tirelessly behind the scenes and in training to put the record straight. Gareth has been a major contributor to that and his recent performances reflect how hard he has been working.”
