Our under 14s boys took on Machen Devils in the TERV League this past weekend after two weeks off following postponements. The match at Ynysyanghard Park ended in a 8-1 defeat for the Pontypridd youngsters. Mani Owen the Pontypridd goalscorer.
Although Machen’s results indicate they are a strong outfit, the home coaches were disappointed with the performance as they felt the boys gave away cheap goals and never really got going in the game. A frustrating display from the young lads, irrespective of the result, as the coaches felt the players didn’t give a true showing of their ability.
Owain Capper was nominated as man of the match for his tireless work for the team and it is hoped others will now follow his example. Other positives included first appearances for new recruits Alfie Churchill and Jordan Lethbridge. Corey Foggarty also performed well between the sticks and he’s a prospect all at the club believe has a very big future.
