Nine-man Ponty salvage late draw with Treforest

Club News, First Team, Match Report

Gareth Davies’ last minute equaliser salvaged a point for Pontypridd who finished with nine-men in a tempestuous local derby with Treforest 2nds.

After Daniel Perry and a Treforest player were sent off for violent conduct in the second-half, Pontypridd fell behind to a penalty after a deliberate handball by Aled Evans, for which the midfielder was sent off.

It looked like Pontypridd would fall to their first home league defeat of the season until substitute Davies produced a wonderful finish from 20 yards to level the match and give the home side a share of the spoils.
