Pontypridd FC enjoyed club record success with an eight-goal romp against Rhydyfelin Non-Pol in the Taff Ely Rhymney Valley Premier Division.
Eight different players found the back of the net at the Maritime as The Black Sheep secured their third league win of the season, making it back to back wins and clean sheets following last week’s success away to Trecenydd.
From the first whistle Ponty were on top and had several chances to take the lead before captain Kieron Cook fired in from the edge of the area on his return to the starting line-up. Ryan Jones advanced from left back to convert Joe Thomas’ superb right wing cross to double the lead. The home side should have had more before the interval but squandered a plethora of chances.

Huw Morgan gave Ponty the perfect start to the second half, converting from a tight angle from Moyle’s through ball. On the hour Daniel Perry made it four with a bullet header from a Thomas corner.
Michael Krawcow made a smart stop from a close-range header to preserve the clean sheet and moments later the underside of the crossbar saved the home team some jitters after some slack marking from another corner.
However, the goals continued to flow. Substitute Hywel Patterson headed Ryan Jones’ brilliant cross past the visiting custodian for five before Darren Davies poked home a Liam Griffiths corner.
After a long pause in play because of a head injury to a Non-Pol player, Ponty wrapped up a fine win with more goals in added time through Artur Cegielka and a Geraint Lewis penalty.
