Both senior teams bowed out of the Greyhound Cup in the first round following home defeats this weekend. The first team took on Cwrt Rawlin under floodlights at Ynysangharad Park – their first ever competitive fixture in the park. Despite taking a 2-0 lead into half-time courtesy of Geraint Lewis and Artur Cegielka goals, the visitors came back strongly in the second-half to take a way a comfortable victory.
FULL-TIME | Pontypridd FC 2-5 Cwrt Rawlin
The second team hosted Talbot Green on the cricket field the next day. The reserves started positively but once Talbot broke the deadlock halfway through the first half, the game only ever looked like going one way. The final scoreline was arguably a bit harsh on the Ponty side but credit to Talbot Green, they were very clinical on the day.
