Pontypridd Reserves ended their long wait for a first win, defeating Trallwn Workmen’s Club FC on the Ynysangharad Cricket Field following a run of nine consecutive defeats this season.
Playing as the away side, Ponty got off to a great start with when Huw Morgan latched on to Brad Harris’ through ball and stabbed home from close range after rounding the home custodian. The “visitors” created plenty of chances in the first half but profligacy in front of goal meant they had to settle for a single goal lead at the break.
Morgan struck again early in the second-half, firing low past the keeper from outside the penalty area. Gareth Kear secured the points with a penalty after Hassaan Tariq was felled. Trallwn did grab a consolation with a penalty of their own but the Ponty outfit saw out the remainder of the 90 minutes to grab a much-deserved three points.
