Two goals in the last eight minutes saw a resilient Pontypridd defeated away to AFC Bargoed in the Taff Ely Rhymney Valley League Premier Division.
The visitors made the win hard work for in-form Bargoed, in a game switched to the Centre for Sporting Excellence in Ystrad Mynach due to the unavailability of Bargoed’s home pitch, with a disciplined display.
Ashley Moyle’s first-half equaliser looked, for much of the match, like it would earn Ponty a valuable point and when Bargoed’s teenage star Wilson Makia missed a second-half penalty lady luck certainly seemed to be on the side of the away team. However, Bargoed’s pressure told with their late double and they claimed all the points.
