Ponty Reserves fell to their second defeat of the season despite a competitive display against a Gelligaer side that will no doubt be targeting promotion from TERV League division one this season.
The Black Sheep got off to the worst possible start, conceding in the first two minutes after a mix-up at the back. However, they played themselves back into the game and after a fantastic break through midfield by youngster Charlie Hobby, Liam Griffiths squared for Connor Walker to bundle home a deserved equaliser.
The loss of Liam Barter shortly after half-time was a blow to the home side and in the end the visitors had that extra bit of energy and quality to find two decisive goals in the second-half.
