First half shambles condemns the reserves to defeat

Match Report, Second Team

A dreadful start, conceding four goals inside the first 20 minutes, condemned Ponty Reserves to another defeat; their fifth in five games this season.

In a fixture moved to the Maritime Recreation Ground, Ponty threw the game away by giving the visiting team an insurmountable lead so early on. An improved second-half performance at least restored some sort of respectability and pride, including a first goal for the club for Josh Jones.

The return of Ceri Williams for the last 15 minutes after a three-year lay-off with a knee injury was a rare positive on a disappointing afternoon.
