Reserves battle on despite Brad defeat.

Match Report, Reserves Team, Second Team

Despite another loss, it was an improved performance from Ponty Reserves as they made free-scoring Llanbradach work hard for their three points at Ynysangharad Park.

Going into the TERV Division Two fixture the Ponty side had lost all three league games this season conceding 15 goals, while Llanbradach had won all three of their fixtures in league and cup this season with 33 goals scored. However, it wasn’t the landslide the form book might have suggested.

A determined Ponty frustrated the visitors and it took them 37 minutes to find a breakthrough. A one goal deficit at half-time meant the Black Sheep had something to play for in the second-half. Although two quickfire goals around the hour mark sealed Llanbradach’s win, Ponty Reserves kept battling to the end of the game and offered proof there is potential to be competitive in future fixtures.
