Reserves lose thriller in the Park

Match Report, Reserves Team

Pontypridd Reserves were involved in another high scoring contest on the Ynysangharad Park Cricket Field but a valiant comeback couldn’t prevent defeat to Talbot Green Reserves for the second time this season.

The teams shared seven goals in a close contest at Talbot Park in August but this looked like it would be more one-sided as the visitors raced into a 4-0 lead inside 17 minutes. Sion Pennell struck back to reduce arrears at half-time.

It was in the second-half that the Black Sheep seconds threatened another incredible comeback on the cricket pitch as Pennell scored again before a rocket from Dai Llewellyn put Ponty within a goal of levelling the game.

Unfortunately, a late goal for the Talbot Green outfit sealed the victory for them as Ponty were left to rue their bad start to the match.
