The Lewis’ send Ponty through to maiden final

First Team, Match Report

Pontypridd AFC booked their place in the Bernard Martin Cup final with a superb win away to Cascade YC.

After the original fixture was abandoned two nights earlier due to torrential rain with the score 2-2, both sides tried again in glorious spring sunshine.

Following a tense first hour with no quarter given by either side, Lewis Roberts turned the game in Ponty’s favour with two goals in a minute. First running on to Nathan Eratne’s through ball before a thunderbolt a minute later.

Lewis Taylor scored a free kick to seal the win and even with 15 minutes of added time, hosts Cascade couldn’t mount a comeback although they did grab a late consolation.
