The first team extended their lead at the top of TERV Division Two to six points with a win away to Gelligaer, completing a league double over their hosts.
Taking advantage of Llantwit Fardre Reserves and Llanbradach having no fixture, the Black Sheep overcame an early setback to pick up their sixth league win of the season.
Having fallen behind to an early penalty, Ponty mounted a strong first-half comeback. Dai Llewellyn scoring from Liam Ormson’s flick on to level scores, before Charlie Hobby scored direct from a long-range free-kick. Michael Clare then turned home Geraint Lewis’ cross to put the Black Sheep in a strong position at half-time.
The defence held firm in the second-half, a late consolation goal from Gelligaer unable to to prevent the Black Sheep taking home all three points.
