Defeat to Cascade for men’s reserves

Match Report, Reserves Team

Pontypridd AFC men’s reserves were left to rue missed chances and defensive lapses as they fell to defeat away to Cascade YC Reserves.

This was the first meeting between the two sides, the second visit by a Pontypridd side to Penybryn following the men’s first team away league fixture last Saturday. The Black Sheep played on the front foot throughout much of the game but a lack of clinical touch in the final third was the difference.

A spectacular strike gave Corey Foggarty no chance for the first Cascade goal and gave the home side a half-time lead. A defensive mistake resulted in Cascade taking a 2-0 lead in the second-half before a good shot from Michal Krawcow reduced the deficit. A third Cascade goal in the final minutes ultimately secured all the 3 points for the home side.

The men’s reserves now turn their attention to the Greyhound Cup against Rhydyfelin AFC Reserves on Wednesday.
