Pontypridd AFC men’s reserves will have to wait another year for a chance of a cup run as they were beaten by Rhydyfelin AFC reserves in the Greyhound Cup, ending their involvement in knockout competitions for the season.
The tie was switched to Taff Vale Park as the Dog Track was not available, but even “home ground advantage” couldn’t help the Black Sheep to a win.
First half in each half by Ethan Powell and Nathan Scott gave a youthful Rhydyfelin’s a commanding half-time lead. Josh Hopkins and Ben Sparkes added late goals on a wet and gloomy evening to seal the win.
