Pontypridd women secured their first win of the season, breezing past Abertillery Bluebirds in the Welsh Cup first qualifying round. This was a welcome boost for the Black Sheep after an opening day defeat at Talgarth and a failure to fulfil last week’s fixture against North Cardiff Cosmos.
Ria Jones got the Black Sheep started and Brook Morgan added a brace. However, the story of the day belonged to Nia Lloyd, who, at 16 years old, scored on her senior football debut.
Congratulations to Nia and hopefully it’s the first of many bright moments in the black and white of Pontypridd AFC!
