Pontypridd men’s reserves were humiliated by Treforest reserves at the White Tips, falling to a team record defeat. This result surpasses the team’s previous worst result, 13-0 against Aber Valley reserves, which also took place at the White Tips.
The Ponty side were always likely to be outmatched against a very strong Treforest side that would compete for the top places in the Premier Division. Nevertheless, the minimum expectation is to play with effort, commitment and pride – all of which were sorely lacking collectively. You simply don’t lose 14-0 if you play well and give it everything you have.
Next week, the reserves host Ynysybwl reserves and it surely can’t get any worse.
