There was more frustration for Pontypridd women’s team as they suffered a second successive league defeat at the start of this season.
It was another threadbare squad that travelled to Tredegar, including three club league debutantes in Rebecca Thorne, Shania Mudd and 16 year old Nia Lloyd (fresh off her senior debut goal last week in the Welsh Cup) but despite their best efforts they couldn’t come away with any points.
League results over the past 12 months don’t reflect the quality within the squad, but commitment remains a big problem and there were 11 players unavailable for this fixture.
Next up is a home league fixture, let’s hope the familiar surroundings of Taff Vale Park can inspire the Black Sheep to success.
